I saw another post about doing a fish survey where you are on a single site and taking measurements on an unknown number of fish.

Similarly, I'd like to set up a survey where I go to multiple plots (each their own survey), and then enter about 8 fields of the information for each tree on that plot.  I will not know how many trees are on the plot until I get out there.  How do I say, add another tree, and then have the same measurement fields pop up again for the next tree?

Thank you.

Hi Christian,

The best option for this workflow is to use Repeats (related table), which will allow you to have a parent record in main feature layer (plot location) and then have multiple related records to that plot (trees). You will find the begin repeat and end repeat question type in the xlsx form template which will denote the start and end of questions to be included in your related table.

More info can be found here: Repeats—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Regards,

Phil.
