Survey123 form created from existing feature service cannot edit attachmnet

I have a feature services that enabled attachment based on the global ID. I created survey123 form based on the feature service and manually included photo repeat in the form. When I tried to publish the form to the existing feature service, I got an error message: the feature service does not match the requirement to edit repeat.

Anything I am missing?

Hi Yuying,

If the attachments are related to the main layer/table in the feature service, you do not need to add a repeat to the xlsform. Simply add a image type question to the survey and the attachments will be enabled and allowed one the main layer/table.

By adding an image question within a repeat (related table) it would indicate there is a related table that has attachments enabled.

So the name field should be the attachment table name, right? Do I need to identifiy the parameters in binding?

Do you have more than one layer/table in your feature service? Are you adding the records with attachments to the main layer or to the related table?

The name of image question will not matter if it is part of the main layer/table as we are not treating it as a real related table.

Can you send a screenshot of the Layer information section of the feature service page?

I only have one layer in my feature service, the attachment is for the feature layer, not for a related table.

I tried to include the image field in the form and I was able to publish the form without any error…Looks like I was able to take 1 photo in Survey123 connect, but I was not able to take photo in the app – here is the screenshot of the attachment

Hi Yuying,

Do you get an error when take photo in app and submit?

If you were able to publish survey without error the attachments shoudl be enabled and allow adding images.

I was not able to take a photo via the app in my iphone. The photo field is grayed out…

Are you trying to add the photo via editing via Inbox? Or are you collecting new survey?

Survey123 does not currently supporting adding/editing of attachments via the Inbox. Attachments can only be added when collecting a new survey and not when editing a survey via Inbox.

Yes…I think now it makes sense now. So…can I edit the attachment to the related table via the inbox?

Hi Yuying,

As Philip mentions above, we currently do not support adding/editing attachments via the Inbox, whether they are to the parent form or in a related table.
