Survey123 Connect on a VM possible?

We are moving to Citrix VMs and I am not able to install Survey123Connect (the windows app does work).  We have a c:\users fakeout that Connect can take if I type in manually but then it dies on creating the link at the last step and I can not find the source.  Tried changing to My Docs using c:\users\documents type path but nothing shows up in the dir.  If I try to install again it says it exists but still nothing in the dir.

If I try to pick the path using the picker I get that $ is not allowed

Anyone have it running on a Citrix VM?
