Survey123 Connect Not Loading Published Form After 3.13.249 Update

I have an inspection-focused form that has already been published to ArcGIS Online (and has been updated several times), but when I've tried opening it in Survey123 Connect today to continue making changes, the program either hard locks at the 'Optimizing Survey' phase, or runs in it indefinitely.

The only change I can think of between yesterday and today is the update of Survey123 Connect to version 3.13.249.

This form is still working fine in the Survey123 standalone app.

I've tried completely uninstalling Survey123 Connect, including deleting all the relevant sub-folders in my 'user/ArcGIS' directory, before reinstalling the app from the Microsoft Store and downloading the published form from AGOL.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with published forms since the update?  Is there any way to solve this aside from creating an entirely new form based on the existing feature service(s) and publishing that in its place?

Thank you!

I have indeed been rebuilding it throughout most of the day yesterday and am continuing today.  So far I've had one instance where a change to the Excel form caused Connect to freeze while trying to reload, and based on the changes I had just made I've noted three potential causes:

  1. “IF” calculation with an empty parameter for the third argument (i.e. “If ______, else do nothing”).
  2. User’s edits to the Excel template sheet extend past pre-formatted rows (i.e. the conditional dropdowns in the first column and the ‘appearance’ column, among others, no longer are present)
  3. Custom row formatting (e.g. custom fill colors or font colors) somehow interfere with Connect’s parser/converter.

I have been publishing the form incrementally and was able to download the most recent version and continue on.  I'm trying to be as methodical as possible but for now getting this form back up and ready for our users is the higher priority.  I'll add any additional details to this thread if I encounter freezing again.

Thank you again for your assistance,

Galen S.

Umm for what exactly?  Sorry hard to follow all these posts.  Note Phil left the team so he probably won't respond.

@Anonymous User

Was there ever a better solution to this problem instead of having everyone retype out days worth of surveys and code? The surveys will load and publish on everyone's computer but mine. There has to be a solution.

My department is running into a similar issue. Once ESRI updated Survey 123 to version 3.13 , our Surveys published from Survey 123 Connect  version 3.11 were no longer loading or re-publishing.  The fix was to have users upgrade their Survey 123 Connect  software to 3.13 and to create a new xls form -  the form format changed with the update. Publishing the old form in updated version of Connect didn't work.  Our users had to do this row by row because copy/paste from old form to new didn't work.  We're publishing to Portal 10.9.1, Using AGOL Survey 123 website,  and on Window 10 Enterprise vs20H2.

Unfortunately that's ultimately what we had to resort to as well.  Very time consuming.

Since then, I've taken to backing up a copy of the XLS form file in a separate folder pretty much every time Survey123 Connect successfully loads after a change, so if this problem reoccurs I can at least recreate the survey123 design using the last working version of the XLS document.
