Not sure if there is anyone that has experienced this before but we have a survey that's had 145 records recorded however when we come to download the data the collaboration/analysis and data tabs are all greyed out and we are unable to download the survey data. (see attachment).

It's been shared in the same way that other surveys on our account have been and we can access and download them with no problem? I'm guessing its a sharing issue somehow? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Appreciate anything that will potentially help us out,

Thanks

I have a simular issue. I have 1 form shared in two groups (group 1 can only submit group 2 can submit + download)

however when using the collaborate settings it lets both groups submit + download. I reached out to esri support and they told me itsa bug.

BUG-000106223

Hi,

There could be a couple of reasons for this, from a transient error while accessing the feature service to sharing issues.  To rule out sharing issues, could you go into 'My Content' in your ArcGIS Organization? From there, set the sharing of the form and Feature Layers (normal and views) to 'Private', then go into Survey123 and re-share the survey.

Hi James,

We've tried re-sharing the survey but unfortunately we are still experiencing the same issue. We have also tried re saving the survey under a different name and this is still resulting in all of the analysis/data tabs being greyed out and not accessible.

We are starting to wonder if its a survey issue, for example how its written or its too big possibly? are there restrictions for this? The other thing that we are doing slightly differently is that we are pulling certain bits of data through from a feature service to populate could this also potentially be causing an issue?

Thanks fro the responses so far

I can't think of other issues that might be causing this.  That being said, to get to the original point (download the data) - that can be done via the item details page for the Feature Layer of the Survey (look for the Export Data button on the right-hand side).

Off topic but can you share how you're pulling certain data from a separate Feature Service to populate your fields in the survey?

Hi Joe,

The main way to do this is to construct a URL to launch Survey123 with values (normally via a popup).  See https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2016/07/30/understanding-survey123s-custom-url-sche...  and Integrate with other apps—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS for more information.

ok great! this is actually very helpful I can use pre-existing web layers attributes to auto fill survey 123 questions. but this forces the users to visit the web map to click the survey 123 URL correct? is there anyway to have the .xls form grab data from a web service/layer

We logged this with esri for them to take a look at and it appears that the non ASCII characters we were using in the form as ArcGIS online doesn't support these there was an issue in getting the data to download etc. We are going to rectify this now and remove these characters from our survey. Some of the known issues can be found here http://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/browser/analyze-results/knownissuesanalyzeresults.htm#anchor1
