Sent Survey Point information is Different to Survey123 Web displayed information

Hi Everyone,

I am semi new to Survey123 but have a dozen surveys which haven't caused me any problems so far. I created a survey with an identical layout to previous ones: Singleline text, location point, picture.

When I view my sent data in the Survey123 app it looks correct with all the information I added.

However, when I open the survey in the web app of Survey123 or download it as a layer in ArcGIS, all of the data points are blank when selected and in the Survey123 table points only show the creator (me), the creation date (correct) and the global ID (string of letters and numbers).

Does anyone know what has happened? I have tried resending the data and sticking it in a new survey but neither works. It would be quite tricky to go back and retake the pictures etc. so I'm trying to avoid that if at all possible.

Hi @RowanTaylor I have a few questions to help narrow this down

  • Are you hosting your data in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise?
  • When you say you say the data points are blank, does the point show up on the web map, or is the geometry also missing?
  • If you navigate to the hosted feature service's item details page in your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and go to the data tab, do you see all of the fields? Are they populated? There is also a setting under more options for show/hide fields incase they are hidden.
  • When you submit your survey records do you receive any sort of error?
  • When was your survey created and roughly how many records are you submitting at a time?

Hi @StephanieW thank you for your response!

  • I am hosting my data in ArcGIS Online
  • The point shows up on the web map, but when I open editing there is no lat/lon data
  • That was a good suggestion but the fields aren't populated here either and all the fields are shown
  • I didn't have any error message when submitting the survey records and the survey itself is identical to other surveys I've made
  • The survey was made on the 17th of October and I submitted 1 record at a time for a total of 20 records

Thanks again! I would attach a screenshot of what it looks like but I don't seem to have permissions!
