I have a survey that records audio from the mobile device. When downloading the file it is stored as an mp4

The file does not play on any media player that I have tried and I have attempted to change the codec in the XLS form but that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated

Josh

I tried the web map popup, and that method seems to work for me as well:

I'm not sure off-hand exactly which screen you are on there to try that method of downloading.

You've already confirmed that the files do work as intended. Honestly, you may need to open a support case for them to log this as a defect. I would expect "Download" to not corrupt files like that under any circumstances.

TBH, I've never actually needed to record from S123, so I haven't tried this before now.

That said, I just created and published a survey to record audio. The recording worked and the file I downloaded played normally through multiple sources. I also recorded through the web app and the Field App.

How are you downloading these files?

Have you tried playing the files after recording them (directly in the S123 app)? Does that work?

What version is your Connect/Field App (if using that software)?

I will note that for me, the Web App saved as *.mp4, and the Field App saved as *.m4a.

Thanks for looking into this.

After a bit of testing I figured where the problem is coming from.

If I access the recording from the feature layer data tab, everything works fine. However, if I download the audio using the map viewer, the recording does not work. I wonder if it is something to do with the download function
