No longer retaining values in a "group" controlled by the "relevant" setting

I have been controlling the display of form elements in a group by using the "relevant" setting (see below). 

This is a useful technique for essentially expanding and collapsing a set of fields. Up until recently, any field values entered in the group, were maintained when the group fields were collapsed (i.e., ${ShowSummaryGroup} = 'no') and then expanded again (i.e,. ${ShowSummaryGroup} = 'yes'), and prior to the form being submitted. This feature is no longer maintaining these values.  What has happened?

The behavior of non-relevant fields was changed to reflect that hidden fields are not valid questions in the form being filled out; submitting data could result in ambiguous or conflicting data (for example, if there are 2 groups of equations, of which only one or the other will get displayed as a user fills out the survey).

We are working on providing enhancements to the display of groups to make navigating long forms easier.

While I understand the logic for making this change, the problem is that we’ve been using this technique as a work-around for not having the ability to use tabs, pages, etc. to group the display of multiple fields. Up until the last release, it was working well but removing this functionality makes our S123 app unusable. Our only hope at this point, is the enhancement you mentioned in your last email. Any insight into when this will be available would be very much appreciated.
