While surveying shoreline erosion on a lake the other day my phone had fallen into the lake when my kayak flipped over. I had several surveys completed in my outbox. I was curious is there was anyway to access those completed surveys from another device, or are they gone forever with the phone? Any help would be appreciated.
Assuming you had not submitted your surveys already, the only location those surveys would be at is on your phone.
What type of device (android or iOS)?
iOS requires iTunes to access S123 content.
Android is basically just a USB. Plug it into a PC and you can browse the file system.
EDIT: And yes, in both cases the phones need to able to be turned on. Without some serious expertise, you cant really extract a cell phone's HDD and connect it to a PC like you can a regular laptop/desktop. If the phone is bricked, your best bet it likely a professional service that specializes in cell phone data recovery.
