Hi,

A survey that has been working fine for a long time has suddenly stopped accepted JPG attachments. A PNG will attach ok, but not JPGs. There is no error message; it just does not accept them.

I've done nothing to the survey recently, except add a Regex contraint to a separate, unrelated field for email addresses. That was last week and it seems to have been working well since then, until today.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Darragh

Hi @DarraghOSullivan, @Anonymous User, @JeremieCote,

An update has just been applied to the 3.14 web app, can you please test with your survey, you will need to republish with latest Connect or web designer, to ensure 3.14 version is being used, and see if the above issue is now resolved.

Regards,

Phil.

Did you update to the last version of Survey123 Field App (February)?

If yes, it could be a bug.

Thanks Jeremie. This survey is only used online via Web App. Updated Survey123 Connect to latest version and tried to re-publish, but no solution. Just tried on the Desktop App and it worked, so issue may be only with the Web App?

Can confirm we are experiencing similar issue with Survey123 forms in Experience Builder since last week. With iOS Safari and Firefox the camera icon is non-functional and only PNG extension files can be selected from the chooser. Testing on Win10 with Edge in developer mode shows a JS error when selecting a non-PNG extension file. The form was originally published in 3.12. Oddly a form on the same experience page built using version 3.9 does not have this issue. So, maybe bug?

@DarraghOSullivan @Anonymous User ,

Can you please provide the following information to help us locate the issue?

  1. If available, share a minimal XLSForm file that can reproduce the issue
  2. Did you encounter the issue in the edit mode (?mode=edit, update existing records) or in the normal mode (collect new records)
  3. It sounds like the issue is caused by the latest 3.14 release. If you have not republished the survey with the latest 3.14 Survey123 Connect/Survey123 website yet, can you please try the two options " Use the version the survey was published with (<a previous version>)" and " Always use the latest version (3.14) " in Settings->Version on the Survey123 website, to see if the issue only exists in the 3.14 version web app?

Thanks,

Zhifang

Thanks @ZhifangWang. Sample attached, issue happens in normal mode, and like @DarraghOSullivan had already republished on advice from support. Will try and find an older version of Connect and re-publish with it.

@DarraghOSullivan ,

Thanks for the information and sharing the XLSForm file. I can reproduce the issue and we are working on a fix to address it soon.

This is an issue introduced by the latest February update (3.14 version) of the Survey123 web app, the older versions of the web app e.g. 3.13 should work as expected for the image question. Please keep in mind that it is always suggested to turn on the version lock for the web app to ensure your survey will not be affected by releases, and always try to test before upgrading the survey/republishing the survey in a newer version.

@ZhifangWang

Thank you for that. I always had version lock on, but made a slight tweak last week to introduce a constraint for email addresses, so that re-publish updated to 3.14

I hadn't thought of using the url parameter to test before publishing - will do in future.

Hopefully a fix can be incorporated soon.
