Hey,
Mostly a PSA to the community and Survey123 team but we've seen iOS 18.1 give issues with the keyboard in survey123.
Drop-down questions and scrolling the form causes the keyboard to appear where previously it didn't.
Just a real frustrating one for field staff with longer surveys, small iPhones or surveys with repeats.
I don't believe it's a Connect issue given the number of devices, survey forms, and issue only appears when upgrading to iOS 18.1 or higher. But if anyone's encountered this issue and has a workaround it'd be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Hi,
If you are impacted by this issue please reach out to technical support and ask to be attached to BUG-000172571. If you want, you can also escalate the defect. As always I encourage community members to do this for any bugs or enhancements they see on the community forum as otherwise Esri can't gauge the impact.
The issue is specifically on iOS, 18.1 or later. After entering text, the keyboard can be closed but constantly reappears as you scroll or interact with questions that should not require text entry e.g. radio (but not multiple select). This should not be confused with other keyboard issues or requests.
Thanks again for the sanity check and support on this post.
Seconded (also have seen this).
This keyboard issue is super annoying. It takes some seriously finicky swiping to get the app to resize itself so forms can even be completed sometimes as the keyboard can cover critical components.
I'm having a hard time communicating the issue to support as they're conflating it with an older enhancement request around auto-closing the keyboard after completing the question. Hoping the Survey123 team can see this and I can cut through the middle man before the majority of our users update their iOS.
It's a keyboard glitch. It appears that the issue only manifests after you have interacted with a question that requires text entry. I would describe it as the cursor remains active in the text entry question (be it text or autocomplete) and therefore the iOS thinks you need the keyboard as you continue through the survey.
Steps to reproduce:
@IsmaelChivite @JenniferAcunto @ZacharySutherby any help would be great, case 03775613 has recordings.
Updated to iOS 18.1.1 this morning.
Followed steps above.
Still able to reproduce issue of keyboard staying open after clicking into a text field.
Potentially a separate issue, but I find it interesting that there appear to be two separate keyboard states. One, which overlaps S123 (hiding questions and the navigation bar), and another, which appears under S123 (making the app screen "smaller" and not hiding anything). Would be cool if that second state was the norm.
I will third this. I am running iOS 18.2 and am experiencing extremely annoying keyboard behaviour. It is near impossible to get the keyboard off of the screen if my cursor has progressed to a text field that I am not entering data into and therefore do not have the 'Done' option on my keyboard.
@Samuel_McAuley @abureaux can you please report this to technical support. Case 03775613 has all my testing notes and video recordings.
I'm trying to get a defect lodged but the support analyst is adamant my issue is tied to an enhancement request from 2021 where some people asked for the keyboard to auto close when moving onto the next survey question if it doesn't require text entry. Personally I don't want this enhancement as I'd rather the keyboard stay open until the user closes it (where it stays closed).
I'm having an extremely difficult time conveying it's the reappearing of the keyboard that is the issue, not that it doesn't auto-close. Some extra reports might help.
Additional notes to the above steps to reproduce:
We've got surveys with 1 text question followed by 10 select_ones. The keyboard is practically fixed open.
