Extract information from image in the field app

Hi!

ArcGIS Survey123 Beta has AI Assistant, that allows to extract information from image and auto populate answers in the survey.  When is this capability be expected to work on the field app as well?

Is there another to get the same result for the ones working in the field? Smart assistant? Anything else?

Yes the existing smart attributes functionality can be used in the field app to extract information from an image, for more information see  Prepare smart assistants.

We have refrained from adding online only capabilities to the field app, focusing on ensuring a fully offline workflow is possible for field app users. The capability that is coming to the web app does require the respondent to be online. 

We are keen to explore what the next generation of assistant for the field app could be. Could you describe what it is that you would like to be able to extract from images in the field app?

Would Smart Assistant also allow to extract specific information such as numbers from images? The use case would be inspection of electricity/water/gas meters where there are many digit number fields so that the person in the field does not need to write number by himself.

So not to detect meter itself but extract data out of it. Smart Assistant could do the job?

Hello! Thank you for this explanation @MarikaVertzonis. I have a question about extracting attributes from an image. The documentation said to ensure field length is long enough to store the image description. When generating a description is it possible to specify how long the result is? (e.g., 80 characters?) rather than extending the length of the result field?
