Hi there
I have created a survey and would like other user types that are not creators to export the outputs as shown below
I have tested this with a viewer role and field worker role and get this message
My users here have access to see the data - but they cant export the results
The viewer settings allow users to export to different data types
Is it because these users cant create content - they cant export data to a different type?

Hi John
That's correct - Viewer and Field Worker user types cannot create content, so they are unable to use the Export feature on the Survey123 website. Members must have (at least) the default User role privileges to access this feature.
Please see some useful info here:
And more on ArcGIS Online user types here:

Kind regards,

Hi Jim.
May be this might be a somewhat unrelated question but how is Survey123 data exporting different from report generation because, Viewer user types CAN generate reports from within the Survey123 website using existing report templates (at least when the survey is published to ArcGIS Enterprise).
Or maybe my question is, why can Viewer user types generate reports but not export data within Survey123?
That's DUMB!!!!! Can we get that fixed?
Esri needs to re-consider this system design. The point of a Viewer is a user who can have read only access to datasets. In many cases, they are on the same team as the person managing the survey.
They should be able to export the Survey results for Excel/CSV. As it stands now, they need to ask their colleague to perform this task. That is a burden created by Esri on its clients.
I know right. This is so foolish.
I going back to Survey Monkey. ESRI just wants to suck all of our money! I'm not giving a basic user a high level of a license.
