Default Answers Don't Work with Choice Filter?

I have a survey setup where I want a select one question to default to 'None'. The question is asking who is the second person you're working with. I put 'None' in the default and everything works great. I then add a choice filter to the name question based off region. So people in Region 3 only see names of people in Region 3 and people in Region 4 only see peoples names in Region 4. This seems to break the Default value of None even though None is a choice for Region 3 and Region 4.

Hi Brent,

Currently, when a value that is used in a choice_list is set, the value of the question with the choice_list is cleared.  The functionality you're asking for will make more sense if we can support more complex logic in a choice filter; I'll add an enhancement and see if it can't be tied with that enhancement.

Has this been implemented yet? I would like to have a default value for a question that has a choice filter.

Have you tried using a calculate column instead?  It pretty much works the same in the end.
