After you submit a survey the following screen says "Great! Your data was sent successfully. Thanks." and has a link labelled "Please click here to submit again.".
Is it possible to change these messages?
Thanks,
Mike
Hi @Aurelija_RutaViluckyte,
The post submission thank you screen message that you see in the web app can not be changed from Connect. This can only be changed from the web designer. However it can now be changed for both web designer and Connect created surveys, previously this was only supported in web designer surveys.
After publishing from Connect, open the survey in the Survey123 website, select the Design tab, and then the Options tab. Modify the thank you screen content and publish the survey again.
Note that the thank you screen in web app does not support question variable replacement (passing values from the form data submission to be displayed on the thank you screen.
Regards,
Phil.
Hi @cafemsmith,
You can download the latest Survey123 Connect and field app builds from the Survey123 Resources page. Previous version are not available for download, only the latest:
https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-survey123/resources
You can also install the latest versions directly from the Microsoft Store, without the need to install downloaded exes.
Do you need 3.3 in particular or just latest 3.12 release?
Hello,
Any idea where I can download the resource of Survey123 connect version 3.3 or later,
Thanks you
Hi Zhifang Wang,
It works like a charm! Thanks so much.
Hi Amanda,
The fix to this issue is available on https://survey123.arcgis.com now, would mind have another try?
We look forward to your update. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the feedback.
Unfortunately, it's a bug for the initial 3.3 release where the new feature only works for surveys in ArcGIS Online but not for surveys in ArcGIS Enterprise. Currently, we plan to have a hotfix within this week to address this issue, will let you know once the fix is available on the website.
Zhifang
Hi Zhifang Wang
Our organization is thrilled with this new functionality, but when our publishing from S123 Connect 3.3.51 to Portal (haven't tested in AGOL yet) the thank you screen is configurable but after publishing changes, the survey does not reflect the new message and the default message still appears. This behavior is reproducible across all browsers (Chrome, IE, and Safari)
We have opened an Esri Support case regarding this behavior, but I thought I would pass it along here as well.
Custom message published
Not applied, only default message:
Any resolution would be great.
Thanks so much!
Amanda
Hi Phil,
Thank you! That was the problem.
Hi Yvette,
Have you tried clearing the browser cache or using a different browser?
Also, as Zhifang notes above, you need to do the following, as this is only supported in the latest version of Survey123 meaning the version locking must be off or republish you survey from Connect:
I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, but every time I choose the Design tab online it just opens the survey in Survey123 connect as the survey was designed in connect. Is the function to change the thank you message available somewhere in connect and I'm not seeing it?
Thank you!
Hi all,
We've made an enhancement in 3.3 release to allow editing the thank you screen content of Survey123 Connect surveys directly in the Design page of Survey123 website, just as you edit it for the surveys published from the website. Please be noticed after editing and publishing the survey on the website, you have to use 3.3 or higher version of the web app to see the result.
The 3.3 release is planned before the Dev Summit, please stay tuned with our release blog and doc to find more details.
Thanks again for all your feedback!
The ability to have a link at the end of a survey to allow the user to submit another survey would be very helpful for my organization. I am creating a survey for the dispatchers to use as a call log in the Systems Operations Center. Every time the phone rings, the dispatchers have to log information about the call. The Survey123 app has allowed me to improve the process by combining all the logs into one website, as well as the ability to create a dashboard that will show the volume of calls, types of calls, and if there are any that need to be closed.
I have a survey created in Connect where I would like to modify the Thank You screen. Our client is collecting locations where participants have seen cigarette trash on the ground or where they have seen people smoking on our smoke-free campus. Once participants complete the survey our client would like them to be able to click on a link to their website for more information on the campus smoke-free policy or for support on quitting smoking.
I have programmed online surveys for many years and editing the thank you screen is a common feature/tool/practice for online surveys.

I would like to see the survey completion text to be modified so that I can customize the text for my users. This would allow me to let me users know that I have received their service request, working on the job, that they should expect an email confirming the request, and a number/email to contact for help. I would also like to provide a link to them to get back to my application or the homepage.
Thanks Johnathon,
John Grogan, can you share you're requirements with Johnathon on why having the ability to change the completion message for a survey created in Connect would help you and your organisation? It'd be useful explain a little about your project and the potential size of audience it would be reaching.
Carmel
Carmel Connolly - sorry, no updates on this. This is still in our backlog. Please share your requirements and I'll add it to the issue. Thanks
Actually not yet.
Hi Johnathan Hasthorpe
Do you have an update on the enhancement request to change the completion message for a survey created in Connect?
This is: BUG-000113652 Republish hangs when you have added questions only to a repeat or nested repeat.
We are hoping to address this in 3.1.
Thanks
John
Any help in this. I am trying to add a new field to my repeating table. The problem arises when I tried to publish it. It doesn't give me an error but at the same time it gives me white page and never reach to "Published ok".
Any update on this.
Yes I'm looking to change my submit screen through connect as well
yes exactly but it seems that you cant manage it yet through survey123 connect.
Thanks for your reply. I clicked on the global button. The problem there that I cant find the place to change the "Resubmit message"
Hi Oussama - To open the survey in the survey123 website you need to click the globe button:
This will provide you with an option to 'Manage in Survey123 Website' - this will open take you to the management settings for the current survey.
how can I open a survey123 form created in survey123 connector from the web to change the settings.
how
Is there a location where I can follow this enhancement request or up-vote it? We are in need of this functionality as well using a survey designed with Survey123 Connect. I have to use connect to take advantage of using an existing feature service.
Hi John,
Any idea when this is coming? Currently I'm using Explorer to find the building footprint for an inspection, and then a pop-up takes the user to Survey123, but when the survey is done I'm relying on iOS to provide a link back to Explorer, at the top of the screen. The problem is you can't count on that link being there, especially if another app like Workforce is running, because then the "back button" isn't there...
It would be ideal if I could put a link back to Explorer in the post-survey message.
Paul
OK thanks.
Hi Mike - there is not an equivalent in Connect.
We have an enhancement request open for this functionality though.
Thanks John-
In retrospect that seems obvious - dont't know how I missed it.
What about for a survey designed with Survey123 Connect?
Hi Mike,
