I am hosting StreetMap Premium locators as geocode services of a 11.1 Stand Alone ArcGIS machine. When setting up to migrate from a 2023 release of the locators to a 2024.4 release of the USA locator I have noticed a huge hit in performance on the Suggest functionality of the resulting geocode service. Anybody know of any changes that have happened over the year plus since I last upgraded that would explain the slower performance and have any ideas for how to mitigate. With the same number of processes available the 2023 services respond in a fraction of a second, but the 2024.4 release takes 10s of seconds to retrieve Suggest results. Thanks.

With each successive release of the StreetMap Premium locators, the reference data and size of the locators generally grows. Between 2023 and 2024 Release 4 the USA locator grew by about 3GB. This growth in size may be impacting what was previously enough machine RAM to not enough. Refer to the StreetMap Premium help web pages on geocoding optimization and machine RAM size suggestions: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/streetmap-premium/latest/get-started/use-locators.htm. Also, the StreetMap Premium locators evolve along with the ArcGIS software functionality, so using an older version of the ArcGIS software with newer datasets is generally not recommended, although the geocoding service will likely still work, things like performance and functionality may be impacted or not available.
