The video was set to 'Autoplay without controls,' but it’s not autoplaying and is displaying controls.

Thanks, @OwenGeo I didn’t realize this setting would affect video autoplay. After turning on “Animation effects,” the video autoplay works now.

@BrandonGuo - Sorry you are seeing an inconsistency between your chosen options and how the video is behaving. Can you please provide some more information about where this video is placed? Are you able to share a link to the story (if it is public)?

One thing you could try is this: switch to another playback option, save, and then switch back to Autoplay without controls and see if that fixes it.

Thanks, @OwenGeo . Here's a demo story map: DEMO

The video was uploaded to ArcGIS Online when creating story map.

@BrandonGuo - Thanks for the demo story. I don't see any controls and your video is autoplaying for me.

My guess is that you have reduced motion enabled in your browser or OS. When that is active, all videos appear as click-to-play to respect the user's preferences.

I'm running into the same problem, but I'm not finding an "Animation effects" setting anywhere. Is this a StoryMaps setting or a browser setting?

Thanks for any help!

It's in the Windows settings.

This is an operating system setting. These articles may help you find it:
