For some reason - some of the previous Map Actions that I set to buttons are working just fine - but now when I try to save a map view to a button with a Map Action, the reset option is grayed out so I can return to the previous view. It works just fine if I link it to text, just not the buttons.
@SaraJL - I'm sorry you are seeing some unexpected behavior with map actions. Could you please share a little more detail on what you mean by "when I try to save a map view to a button with a Map Action?" What are the steps you are going through and which buttons are you clicking? Are you able to share a link to your story?
Thank you for the help!
I'm using the docked panel format in the Sidecar - Media action > and then attaching the map view to the button:
In the example video - for some reason it worked just fine in the 113 tab, but when I did the same process in the 114 tab, it will zoom in but then gray out so I can't zoom out/reset the view.
In the 113 tab, I can zoom in and the the reset button activates so I can zoom back out.
In 114 - I can actually click on multiple buttons in the panel and it will zoom to each spot just fine, I just can't get it to reset to the original view.
Here is the StoryMap! (it is still under construction and not finished)
Let me know if you have any more questions!
@OwenGeo I think I figured out what was going on - if I only add one media action button to a page in the docked panel it works. But if I have multiple media actions buttons in the same page of the docked panel, then it starts to gray out the reset button!
Yes, we are looking into this now and the issue definitely appears related to having multiple actions on the same slide. We'll reply again when we have an update.
@SaraJL We did a little digging and this behavior seems to be related to the number of unconfigured action buttons you have in a single sidecar panel.
From our testing having more than one unconfigured action button in a sidecar panel will result in the behavior described.
While we work on resolving this issue, a potential work around is to delete any unconfigured action buttons in the sidecar panel, and only add and configure a single button at a timie.
I will try that! Thank you so much!
