It'd be nice to have more options for the subtitle portion of a StoryMap. In this example, I wanted to include more text and more fine-tuned text spacing.
I settled on semi-colons as a workaround, but I find them to be "adequate, but not ideal" as a way to separate portions of that subtitle.
I think I tried "soft return" (that is shift-enter) instead of semi-colons, but they didn't stick.
(FYI - to any reader - soft returns do work quite nicely at other parts of a SM: see the "tightness" of the various bulleted lists throughout the above SM.)
