Hi,
I have a state layer with cities and the usual city attributes (name, population, etc.). The attribute table also has a "capital" attribute (Y/blank). If the city is the capital of the state, the capital column has a 'Y', otherwise, it's blank.
I would like to display the layer with city names and:
This seems rather simple but I tried defining classes of features, using the Symbology tab creatively and checking the internet. I can't figure this out. I would very much welcome all suggestions. Many thanks.

Then just make sure that you set the symbology to unique values and use the table field that differentiates state capital and non-capital
are they point symbols?

If so, then you will have to troll the symbol sets for the appropriate one. using Unique values as the type
