Contours feet & meters

I have data in Michigan GeoRef meters coordinate system. I've added a point layer that also has a depth attribute field. The depth, however, is in feet, not meters. I want to add contour lines every ten feet. I've interpolated the data to a raster, where the values match the depth, but I'm guessing being treated as meters instead of feet (ex. value -1000 interpreted as -1000 meters, not feet).
I then try Surface Analysis - Contours, but not sure what to put as the contour value and the z-factor. I've tried 3.2808 & .3048 in different combinations, but not sure if that's correct, and whether it gives correct data in 10 foot intervals. Any ideas? Thanks.

The coordinate system that your data is in and the vertical units of your Z value have no relation to each other if I am reading your post correctly.

The spatial element of your data is XY in meters but your z value is in feet, when you created the raster and contours the z value of both should still be the same as the original input data i.e. feet. If you want your z values to now be in meters you need to apply a factor to the data sets you want to convert, use the z factor option for the contours and you could use the raster calculator to multiply your raster by a constant value to get it into meters.

Thanks, that makes it much easier. I was assuming that since the coordinate system was meters, the z values would be treated as meters as well. Your answer is very helpful.
