Hi,
I currently have ArcGIS 10.1 on my desk top PC computer.  I also want to install Business Analyst, but I do not currently have enough GB on my computer to install it.  Is it possible to run Business Analyst from an external hard drive?

Thanks,
S.S.

Stephanie,

It certainly is possible to install ArcGIS 10.1 and Business Analyst 10.1 software on the local drive but then have all of the large datasets reside on the USB thumb drive which Business Analyst is installed from or to copy the data component to an external drive or even a network drive (though generally I do not recommend the network drive as it incurs a performance hit accessing the large datasets over a network).  I would think it would be an option during the guided install when the Data install part begins.  Though it has been a while since I have taken a look at those install options since I have not had to reinstall in several months.

After some digging there is a html install guide on the physical media.  If you are viewing the root of the thumb drive there will be an install guide folder and the html inside.  Went ahead and printed it to PDF and attached to this post for convenience.

Regards,
Jason R.

Edit:  A coworker found the online URL version of the PDF I attached though it references the 2012 version and my PDF is for the 2011.
