Hi all,

I was trying to create a tile package that I had included the imagery basemap from ArcGIS Online using 10.1 Desktop. The analyze portion tells me that the layer type is not supported. Anybody got any ideas how I can get the imagery in a format or layer type that will work? I only need it at one scale and for a small area. I can use Server or desktop to create the cache.

Thanks in advance, Russell

The license agreement does not allow storing of ArcGIS Online basemap tiles.

You can find more information about the licensing terms under the Access and Use Constraints section of each ArcGIS Online basemap item. For example - http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=10df2279f9684e4a9f6a7f08febac2a9

I assume you have looked for free of charge imagery for your area of interest, Russell? I would assume that you could find USGS imagery or property appraiser imagery (sometimes inexpensive) and put one of those into a tile package?
