Smoothing-resolving weird neck-tie shaped in a polyline

Recently I wrote code that create a parallel line/lines some distance away from a give polyline ( of a road, railroad track etc'). The prblem is that in the process, I get weird twists, like an up-side down gamma letter, can be seen in the pruple at the top and bottom of the attached file. I need a method to resolve those twist where ever they occour. I could use the feature-vertices editor, but that will take a lot of time for a polyline that covers hundres of miles.

Any ideas on how to this efficently in python?

Thanks
