Search Service - How to send REST requests to the Search Service

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to the Search Service and I wonder if and how I can send REST requests to the Search Service for Metadata search. I won't to right a JavaScript application that searches for Metadata using this service.
The SearchServer itself returns Invalid URL.

Search Service is not supported using the REST API.
