Use subset of vertices from polygon A in new adjacent polygon B

Polygon A has many vertices. When creating polygon B, I want to re-use the vertices from polygon A to save time.

As far as I can tell, there isn't an efficient way to simply select certain vertices from an existing polygon and use them as a starting point when drawing a new adjacent polygon.
