When I try to print to one of our printers from my layout in PRO, I get "unknown." Printing to this same printer from ArcMap works fine as always. When I tried to print to a .pdf, it just kept spinning for an hour while I was at lunch! The layout is from a map series, but I definitely checked the box to just print the one page. I just read one post from a User that said printing from PRO is "inviting the devil." Actually for my purposes, I'd be able to use the print to .pdf, but can't even get that to work.
I'm unaware of any known issue that fits the description of your issue. Its likely that you are running into a specific bug that needs troubleshooting. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support.

My issue from back in November solved itself! Never knew why PRO did not want to print to a printer or make a .pdf, but it's now working. Interesting a similar thing has happened in my WebApps - we have Enterprise. When I use the print widget from my app, sometimes it'll make my .pdf, .jpeg, etc. And sometimes it just gives an error. Some kind of server thing or something? Anyway, it does usually work. Thanks for your help. I'm about to post another question here to the Community . . . .
