Modify Features - Move Several Points at Once

I'm experiencing an issue when trying to move several point features at once. I want to move 4 points and maintain their spacing, but when I select them all and choose the move tool, the select tool remains active and it will not let me edit them all. When I select one, the mouse icon then changes and I can only move one at once. This is something I've done many times and have only recently been having this issue.

Has anybody else experienced this or know how to resolve this issue? Is this a bug?

@SarahKendell i had this issue just now (could not move multiple points at once, only get the yellow dot when I select single point). I had to switch my map projection to the same as the feature class I was editing, then it worked (I could select, get a yellow dot, and move multiple)

Hi @SarahKendell. Select all of the points (Either lasso them or Shift-click). To move all of the points together, you want to have your mouse on the yellow dot in the centre of them so that the move tooltip icon appears. Then, when you drag and move, they should all move together. Hope that helps 🙂

Yes, that is what I am trying to do, but the yellow dot never appears when I have all of them selected. 😅

Hi @SarahKendell , I seeee-- Interesting, I just had a go and it worked as expected. Which version are you on/ have you had any updates recently? The only other thing I can think of is that the edits aren't saved from the edit tab before you try and move them.

Hi @Dandy , thanks for your reply! I had come to the same conclusion that it was a matter of projection. The feature I was trying to edit was in a different projection than the map. Surprised I haven't run into this issue before...

@SarahKendell that's unexpected behavior. What version of ArcGIS Pro are you seeing it occur?

I can't remember what version it was originally happening in. As part of my troubleshooting, I updated to 3.5.2 and it was still happening in that version.

@SarahKendell Thanks for that additional information. The development team is not aware of this issue, but would like to understand under what conditions it occurs. It would be best to work with Esri Technical Support so they log a defect. My biggest questions are:

  1. What coordinate system does the map use?
  2. What coordinate system does the point feature class use?
  3. What transformation is in use in the map, if any?

Feel free send me a direct message with this information if you can.
