I am trying to map and build a line between two reference points on a ARC GIS PRO map. There is a function called “XY to Line” that helps me to do that. I have a Excel spreadsheet as my data source that has the two sets of geospatial reference points (Start and End Xs and Ys). I have added this data layer (excel) to Arc GIS PRO project/map. It is a large file (100,000 waste transfers). I called the XY to Line function. Okay I am able to enter the Start X and Y points (Columns named 67# Latitude  and 68# Latitude) since they are formatted as “double” numeric types. However, I believe that ARC GIS PRO is not recognizing my second set of georeferenced points as X and Y End points because it believes they are “text” fields. I do not know how to change the data type in ARC GIS PRO. Thanks

fix your excel file so that the field names don't have punctuation or spaces ( underscore is fine though)

then use

Excel To Table (Conversion)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

and use a geodatabase table and confirm that all the geometry fields are indeed numeric,

if they aren't, go back to excel and make it so

... sort of retired...
