Model Builder Parameter to select values in a field

Hi,

I just want to create a model that allows a user to select a value found in a field and display it. I'm struggling to figure out which tool to use and whether or not I need to alter the data to get a parameter to work. Please help.

If Selection Exists (ModelBuilder)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

checks for an existing selection,

not sure what your model does, but if the table is open and they select a record in a field in the table they can see it without having to display it

perhaps describing the purpose of the model would help
