Is it possible to make contingent values not required?

Hi,

I would like to use contingent values to limit the values in fields. I have this working but i would like the option for the user to not have to populate the fields.

Eg i want them to populate field 1 but then they dont have to populate fields 2, 3 or 4 or can enter values in one of them if they want.

Is it possible to make the fields not required?

I worked it out. I had to make the field groups unrestrictive!
