After running BIM File to Geodatabase on an IFC file, we get a Feature Dataset.

If I 'Add to New Local Scene' the Feature Dataset, some of the records in my GenericModel layer are automatically symbolized with color, even though the Contents layer shows a single symbol:

If I 'Add to New Map' the Feature Dataset opens in a map with symbology as defined in the Contents:

The colored Scene looks great, but where do these colors come from, what do they mean (there is no legend), and can the colors be changed?

Hello @MicZatorsky_AEC

The colors come from the original source as the information get bake into the geometry (multipatch).

Best regards

David

Hi there,

I have been able to change the colours of my features by going to symbology and selecting from the gallery, then in the properties select material fill, and change material mode to "Replace".

Works a treat and you can symbolise by unique value as well 🙂 Enjoy...
