I am trying to add a .asc file to my map, but dragging and dropping it from my catalog is not working. I also tried to use the "copy raster" geoprocessing function to import it as a raster and got the error code 000732. The data in the file is population density if that helps.

Let me know if there is any other info I should add to the post, I'd appreciate any help you can provide,

Thanks

rename it to a much shorter name.

When using copy raster, give it a shorter name and add a *.tif file extension and specify a folder path for the output.  without a file extension, it may be trying to save to an esri grid which has a filename character limit
