Hello.
I would like to identify each road segment of the divided road that is going uphill or going downhill.
I'm using "Add surface information" (3D Analyst) tool, so I can add the max, min, and average slope to the road segment.
Please see the attached image.
Example 1:
"A" has a +3.9% slope value
"B" has a +2.74% slope value
"C" has a +6.13% slope value
When A to B (3.9% to 2.74%) mean going downhill
and B to C (2.74% to 6.13%) mean going uphill
Example 2:
"D" has a +6.04% slope value
"E" has a +7.69% slope value
"F" has a +1.92% slope value
When D to E (6.04% to 7.69%) mean going uphill
and E to F (7.69% to 1.92%) mean going downhill
How do I know that the divided road shapefile for each segment is going uphill or going downhill when the result from "Add surface information" has only positive percent slope values? Are there any tools or suggestions?
