How do I report a geographic name change for ESRI basemaps?

Hello everyone,

My name is Aidan and I work for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. In January 2024 our Commission voted to change the name of Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park to "Blue Heron Lake." The name of the lake changed as well as the surrounding roadway - "Blue Heron Lake Drive."

Here is the announcement on the name change - https://sfrecpark.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1696

In a nutshell, William Stow, who the lake was originally named after, was an outspoken antisemite.

The ESRI basemaps still have "Stow Lake" and "Stow Lake Drive." We also have other park names that need to be changed.

How does one submit a request for a geographic name change to ESRI?

Thank you!

Of course, OpenStreetMap was already updated a year ago 😉, but you likely already know that:

You may also want to propose a change to USGS for GNIS ID 235569.
