How do I improve rooftop quality for buildings in a multipatch feature class?
Hello,
I am currently working on a project to incorporate SketchUp models of buildings (primarily towers and multi-family housing) into a Local Scene primarily comprised of buildings as a multipatch feature class. These buildings in the multipatch feature class are created from LiDAR following the "Extract 3D Buildings From LiDAR" tutorial from ESRI. I have thinned the LiDAR point cloud from 19 million to 7.8 million, played with simplify and sampling resolution values with Simplify Building, Regularize Building Footprint, Generalize, and Resample tools, but I always have an issues with the rooftops in particular, which I show below.
Also, I have worked through the 3D Basemaps Solution following tasks like Segment Roof Parts, but I have not been successful in the outcomes.
Any suggestions to create more appealing roof forms particularly for large buildings is much appreciated.
