How can I get my 3D buildings layer to be at ground level and keep pitched roof?

Hi community

I'm having problems getting my 3D layer to visualise correctly - I seem to be able to get one thing I want at a time but not multiple at the same time...

I have a feature layer containing roof top polygons e.g. a single pitched rooftop will be two polygons. Each vertex has a Z value of it's height (in feet). There are also 2 fields in the attribute table of minimum and maximum height of the roof.

So my issues are:
- The only way I have found to get pitched roofs is Elevation relative to the ground (geometry z-values) and set extrusion to Base Height with the maxHeight field. However, this results in the extruded buildings not touching the ground (image1)
- only editing the symbology to be Extruded Buildings (Procedural Symbols) removes the pitch and results in flat roofs (image2)
- Setting Elevation to on the ground means the extruded buildings are on the ground but the roofs are flat (image3)
