I can't find heat map symbology in the new version 3.1; how can I symbolize a layer with heap map?

Heat map symbology draws point features as a dynamic, representative surface of relative density.

You have selected a polygon layer. It's not possible to create a heat map from a polygon layer.

You can choose a different method - such as an attribute (population) to symbolize the boundaries?

Above documentation link has the steps.

If you can't see it:

  • Ensure you have the layer selected
  • Ensure it's a valid layer type i.e. a feature layer
  • Maybe check another layer to ensure it's not specific to the data?
