Graphic leader removed after .aprx file saved

I am struggling with my graphic leaders:
I create a text with a leader, export my map to pdf and save the project (first image).
When I reopen the project a few hours later the leader has disappeared. The text is still there in position, but no leader. I need to manually re add the leader which automatically convert my text to an other format (second image) and then reselect the text symbol I originally had.
Any idea of what is going on and how to fix this?
