I'm noticing some issues since updating to version 2.0. Not exactly eager at this point to open a help ticket, wondering if anyone else has seen these issues
These are all obviously very annoying bugs, and make exporting even current maps a time consuming process. I really wish I had not updated, and I'm afraid that I may be forced to re-author these maps from scratch in ArcMap in order to work with them.
Update:
Well, I haven't really looked into this further, but we may have fixed the issue while fixing something else. Apparently ArcMap 10.5 uses a different way to manage group permissions, and when I upgraded from 10.4.1 our System Admin had to make some changes there. After the changes were made, I have normal behavior and no issues opening ArcPro 2.0 documents.
If it was a permissions issue all along, I'm not sure why I was still able to view data, even if it had broken links, but this fix did the trick. I can explain the actual changes we made in further detail if that's helpful for anyone. Hopefully this insight will assist others!
My first question would be to ask how is your data link getting broken and the slow speed seems to suggest that something is up with your connection. You suggest that arcmap doesn't behave in a similar fashion and the previous version of Pro didn't either. This could suggest that some requirement change between 1.4 and 2.0 may be responsible
I can add that I've had Pro 2.0 running for just a day and I'm very disappointed with the project load time, slow performance, and the most annoying, showstopper actually, randomly crashing every 5 -15 minutes, loosing work, data and time. I'm a long time ESRI user, and in the past all x.0 releases were buggy. Seems like things have not changed. Really makes me question the company's quality control. Big disappointment after being so impressed at the UC. Looks like I'll have to wait another 6 months or more before Pro is a viable tool.
I would suggest getting an https://community.esri.com/groups/technical-support?sr=search&searchId=7f5ef7f9-b3e8-441b-aa4a-71c52... case open for investigation. If you do not report any weird behavior and it is an issue, then we cannot work towards resolution
For those experiencing long load times in 2.0 vs. 1.4, I would strongly recommend contacting Esri Support Services at 1-888-377-4575 as this, from my experience, is not normal behavior. I've been opening many *.aprx's in 2.0 and have not experienced any latency whatsoever. Sounds like something else is going on here...
