What are the technical behavioral differences between an ArcGIS Grid raster and a File Geodatabase Raster?
I'd suggest that you start here
Thanks for the reply, but evidently my reply back didn't go through...
Let me try it this way:
When I have a TIFF added to my map, the Source Data Type indicates "Raster". If I export that to a GRID, it indicates the same thing. And both exist outside the geodatabase. If I export either of those INTO my geodatabase, it will now indicate its's a "File Geodatabase Raster". ...So is there any behavioral difference between these 3 raster types, or advantages of one over the other?
And by the way, why can I seem to only "export" a raster into a geodatabase, instead of "import" from the geodatabase like I can feature classes ...I'm trying to determine if there's any important logic to that that I might be missing?
