I have a layer of polygons and used graduated colors symbology to create the attached picture. I'd like to improve it by combining polygons with similar values of my variable of interest into continuous areas so that it looks more like a topographic map. Is there a way to do this? I would very much appreciate your advice.

Hi Mikhail,

Maybe you could consider the generalize tool.

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/generalize-a-feature.htm

Give it a read and let us know how you did with it along with a before and after picture.

I'm psyched to see your results.

Hi Ronald,

Sorry for the delay, I was on holiday for a week. Thank you for your advice, but this does not work as the algorithm only makes marginal changes to the outline of each polygon. What I was looking for was a way to combine the polygons with a similar value of a specific parameter into a continuous area.

Regards,

Mikhail
