Hi,
Almost every time I use the Image Classification Wizard, it just gets stuck halfway through. I've left it alone for hours to try and complete but it's not even trying. If I cancel and try to save and reopen it does the same thing. I have to start from scratch and pray it decides to process it. Anyone else have these issues? I've attached a photo. This is all I see.
Some resolutions I've seen in the internals with folks having similar experiences include:
1. The training samples are too large. Reduce the amount of the training sample and run the tool again.
2. Set up parallel processing on the tool. This is set at the 'Train Support Vector Machine Classifier' tool's Environments setting. Parallel Processing Factor (Environment setting): Parallel Processing Factor (Environment setting)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
3. Release more CPU and RAM on the computer to allocate to this tool running.
I reduced the training sample size and prioritized the program for more CPU. I also have it set to "Support Vector Machine". It is still just getting stuck at the 50% mark. I will watch the CPU drop from 40-60% to basically 0%. It just stops trying, doesn't even give me a fail message. I don't understand why it works some days and not others on the exact same map. Did I not understand your #2 suggestion?
It's just a point with a 500m radius. It shouldn't be too big for the program to handle on my computer...
I have had the same experience--I have actually found that reducing the number of default cores prevents stalling if your PC only has the default number of cores. My PC has 6 cores, so I reduced it to 4. Worth a shot.
