Cant import maps from ArcMap to ArcGis Pro

Question

Hello. I worked on some maps on ArcMap 10.8. some time ago and now I want to transfer it to Arc Gis Pro. However, following the instructions, after importing the .mxd file, I can only see the printing version of the map, with the legend titles etc... But no map!

Then I clicked the red exclamation mark that says hey I didnt find the files, but then again I go the the .gbd and its gone! I jave a .gbd with all the files but im unable to use it effectively on arc gis pro.

Is there a way for me to use rhe old maps?

Hi Martin,

from what you have written, the import from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro worked correctly, but the FGDB isn't correctly recognised anymore.

Can you first try to add the database on the catalog pane? If you can't, I guess your FGDB wasn't stored properly and ArcGIS Pro can't recognise it anymore as such (this can happen for example if you unzip the FGDB and don't let the process finish fully, but I don't think it is your case)

If you can add it, try opening the Catalog View and then click on "Data Sources". There, you can click on Workspace and change the current data path to the new one. It's a similar method to clicking the exclamation mark, but if you can't add files, it will give you an error message and specify which layers couldn't be updated
