I'm working on a time-sensitive project (I only have tonight) and all of a sudden all of my files in a project geodatabase are locked. Any time I try to pull anything from the geodatabase onto the map, I get a "can't acquire a lock" error. I am the only person that has access to this data. I restart arcgis pro again and again and nothing happens. I am working on a remote pc for which I do not have administrative access and cannot restart it.
I've reviewed the docs for managing geodatabase locks but I think I must not have access to these functions because when I look for the menu options I'm not seeing anything. I'm desperate at this point, any help would be greatly appreciated. Days and days of work are tied up this way and I don't have time to recreate everything from the source data.
Started a new project just to test...even creating a new feature class in a brand new project, then trying to add to map results in "cannot acquire lock." Apparently the software has completely broken for me. Anyone have any ideas?
Did you create a GIS service at some point with this data that could b putting locks on the data?
I have been experiencing the same issue. At the moment all I have found is a workaround:
Open the file geodatabase you are using in a windows file explorer window. You should see the LOCK files being created and then removed.
If I don't have the file explorer window open I get the "cannot acquire lock". When open, everything works.
I know this post is old but hopefully this helps
