Longtime Arc GIS user, absolute newb using GIS Pro. Imported existing v10x project, created new point feature class, added 12 points via mouse/cursor, added description field in table. When I tried to edit the points the attribute table and ribbon above it started flashing, and I cannot edit it at all.
Apologies for the basic question but searching documentation hasn't revealed my error.

An internet search suggested the feature class could be missing a spatial reference, but on checking, the feature class does have a valid one. NAD83 HARN State Plane Washington North FIPS 4601 US Feet
By chance, do you have a web map from your active portal in the Map View? In reading a Support Case, this was the issue and is identical to what you're experiencing. The customer readded the web map using the workflow listed here Add maps and scenes to a project—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation, added the feature layer and the flashing was resolved.
Sorry about the delay in responding. No, I don't PURPOSEFULLY have a web map in Map View but I'll try it. Back shortly. . . .
Okay, no joy on the potential web map. I'm gong back to square one and re-creating the feature class from scratch.
