ArcGIS Pro fails to publish web layer

I am trying to publish a polygon layer from ArcGIS Pro to AGOL. However whatever I do, it brakes on 'Uploading service definition...', returns the message: 'Failed to publish web layer' and gives me the option to 'View log', which opens the log in txt format.

What could go wrong?

Thank you,

Stan

Any useful message in the log? Please ensure you have the appropriate privileges to publish web layer(s) to your ArcGIS Online organizational account.

I just updated ArcPro to 2.9.1.

I'm currently trying to overwrite a web layer.  It has failed on me twice now.  And it currently appears to be stuck at "Uploading service definition"

I'll update this if it fails or completes successfully. EDIT: It's failed every time.

I reviewed the logs from my last failures... below are the messages it gives:

Hello Stan,

I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Could you please check if your ArcGIS Online organization has enough credits? Speaking of which, how complex/large is the polygon layer you are publishing?

  • Is it detailed with many vertices?
  • Does it cover a large area e.g. census tract/district boundaries across an entire region/country?

Sometimes there are generic errors for larger datasets. Although this is not always the case, it's a good place to start.

Best regards,
Kanin

It appears others are having similar issues.

I am the admin for my organization.   Plenty of credits, not an unusual task for me to perform.

It only includes 1 point feature class with 5 features, and 1 related table that doesn't have any records in it.

ArcGIS version is 2.8.0. I am publishing from the admin's account. Our organization has enough credits. The layer has 31 features. The level of details is low, because the polygons are either county or city boundaries.

Kanin,

I'm having the same publishing issues again.  Is Esri having issues again?

There must be an AGO issue. My office is having the same issues as listed above. We have more than enough credits, I'm an admin and I was able to publish on the morning of Jan 11, 2022. We can't publish last night or today.

Looks like it is working again! Thanks Esri!
