Hello,
After installing ArcGIS Pro 2.8.0 I noticed that when I delete a feature class from a file geodatabase, that the corresponding layers that were attached to my original feature class are deleted from my maps. Previously, I would see a red exclamation mark that indicated that the source layer was missing.
Is anyone else having this experience?
Thanks,
Jen

I am working in Pro, I have a bunch of layers, I don't want in the map, I also want to delete them from the gdb
Option 1 : remove the layers so I don't get ! marks, then delete them from the gdb
Option 2: use catalog, delete the featureclasses from the gdb
Result : fcs gone, map cleaned of unwanted layers and no ! marks
That is my use case
Not sure when this was added but there is a setting in the Pro GP options now to self-select whether you want to retain layers that are being overwritten, or have them automatically removed. I was just struggling with this yesterday and this morning until I found it. Remove layers that reference data overwritten by geoprocessing tools
