Hi all.

In ArcMap I used to convert labels from any shape to annotations, and symbologies to graphics for a layout. I want to do the same in ArcGIS Pro.

I don't know if there is a tool that allows me to do this, because when I right click to create the annotations, it asks me for a GDB, and I don't know if it is the same GDB where the SHP is stored or another one, while when I convert to graphics, I must activate the layout to be able to manipulate them. This did not happen in Arc Map.

Thank you all for your answers.

Annotations can't be stored as Shapefiles, only as geodatabase feature classes. The good thing is that you get to choose where it lives, so if you wanted to make a geodatabase next to your shapefile (SHP), you can.

You can manually make graphics in the layout, but any graphics converted from a label can only be placed into a map, not the layout.
