Aliases aren't showing in Pro

Hi there,

I'm working on a project in Pro.  The feature classes and their fields have aliases, but some of the feature classes do not have their aliases showing in the table of contents.  How do I get the aliases to be used in the table of contents?  Also, some of the fields that the symbology is based on do not have their aliases showing either, as shown in this example:

How can I get the aliases to be used in the table of contents?

(I did Google this various times in different ways and never found any answers.)
